Romans are accessible, hip, magnetic; a melodious indie rock band with a distortive edge. The Romans’ Myspace website offers that the band has a “slightly dark brand of indie rock-influenced pop” song structure. Romans’ recently released album, King Fisher, delivers this darker and more bitter version of a sweet and catchy conventional indie rock offering. |

We had the pleasure of checking out Vigilantes a while back when they were kind enough to drive down from Grand Rapids for a show in Huntington. Editor's Note: This story was originally written for and published in the IPFW Communicator.
Otis and the Rufies is a unique experimental rock band with members hailing from Bloomington and Fort Wayne. The Otis and the Rufies new album, “Neon Fetus,” (released on August 21st of this year) plays out like one long, slow release of tension and emotion. This distilled sound and feel translates nicely in concert, as the band infuses each live show with vitality and apparent musical chemistry.
